On Edge: Turbulence Will Be Boon To Bankruptcy, Restructuring, Regulatory Law, Area Attorneys Say

Boult Cummings attorney, Jay Hardcastle, was quoted in the Nashville Business Journal in an article titled "On Edge." The article discusses the changing legal landscape during the current economic situation. Hardcastle states, "Firms that have relied on securities work are hurting and may be in real danger." However, there is hope. Hardcastle adds, "There are a lot of opportunities out there for lawyers in restructuring and bankruptcy in particular. Deals are still getting done. If you need $20 million to get a deal done, you can probably find it. If you need $100 million, you might be in trouble." Hardcastle also feels that there is an opportunity to hire new associates and partners from larger firms, like ones based in New York, that are cutting many of their attorneys.
