Medical Staff Bylaws, Credentialing, Peer Review and Provider Reporting

In managing relationships with medical staff, health care providers face growing challenges. Many have turned to Boult Cummings for our broad experience in this area. We are actively involved in the preparation and revision of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, as well as physician contracts and other agreements.

We also assist clients with credentialing issues, including medical staff appointment, reappointment and clinical privilege delineation, and we provide counsel regarding Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization standards.

Our lawyers are involved with all aspects of the peer review process, including medical staff committee review of physician issues, medical staff fair hearings and appeals, and National Practitioner Data Bank and state reporting guidelines. We also handle any civil litigation that may arise from medical staff disputes, including defense of medical staff in breach of contract, civil rights violations and discrimination disputes.
